Day 1 : Hanoi arrival (D)

Our tour guide will come to pick you up upon arrival. Then our car will take you to the city and check in at the hotel.

This evening, travel guide will take you out to sample some of Hanoi’s superb cuisine for welcoming dinner.

Day 2 : Hanoi City tour (B,L)

We will take you to some must-see places such as: Ho Chi Minh Complex with Ho Chi Minh Mausoleumhis former stilt-house residence, the Presidential PalaceHo Chi Minh museum and Chua Mot Cot (One Pillar pagoda).

We will also visit Van Mieu (Temple of Literature) – the first university of Vietnam, built in 1070, originally as worshiping Confucius. The temple highlights the importance of education to Vietnamese people from ancient times.

After having lunch, we will head back to the Hanoi old Quarter. We will visit Ngoc Son temple (Temple of The Jade Mountain) – located on Hoan Kiem Lake.

After visiting those famous places in Hanoi, you will have chance to see the Hanoi Old Quarter by “xích lô” (cyclo). Cyclo riders will take you go around to see this bustling and crowded area with narrow streets – where is home to thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers.

The last activity is enjoying the unique Water Puppet show.

Day 3 : Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (B,L,D)

From 8:00 am to 8:15 am, tour guide will come to pick you up for Ha Long Bay Trip today. It takes about 3-hour driving through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Comfort stop en route for photos and coffee before arriving to Ha Long City.

At noon, we will check in the cruise, ready for discover Ha Long Bay. Through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay, we will have a chance the to take in the stunning scenery of this World Heritage Site. While on board we will be served a sumptuous fresh, local seafood lunch followed by a swim and exploring some of the limestone caves in this area. When the sun comes down we drop anchor for the night nearby a remote island.

Day 4 : Ha Long – Hanoi – night train to Dong Hoi city (B,L,D)

The wondrous Ha Long Bay is truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive scenic sights. We relax and enjoy on boat for an exploration of the legendary Ha Long Bay. This exciting cruise will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. The limestone karst formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. After lunch, we drive from the unforgettable Ha Long Bay back to Hanoi.

After having dinner in Hanoi, we will be at the Hanoi Railway Station for the night train to Dong Hoi – departs at 8:00 pm.

Day 5 : Dong Hoi city – Phong Nha & Paradise Caves (B,L,D)

Early morning, we will arrive in Dong Hoi station, you are picked up by our private guide and driver and transferred to the hotel where you will have time to shower and enjoy breakfast.

Today you will discover one more World heritage site on this tour. The day begins with a short drive to Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park to see the world’s longest limestone cave and now a UNESCO World Heritage Listed site. Reach the cave by boat along the Son River and once inside explore the caves fine sand beaches, spectacular stalagmites and stalactites. After touring this amazing limestone cave you will return to the dock for lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch, continue to explore Tam Co Temple and Paradise Cave, discovered by scientists of the British Caving Research Association in 2005. It has a length of 31km, and is the longest dry cave in Asia.

Return to Dong Hoi where the remainder of your day is free.

Day 6 : Dong Hoi – DMZ (Former Demilitarized Zone) – Hue (B,L,D)

After breakfast our private tour guide and driver will transfer you to Hue, another World Heritage recognized site and former capital of Imperial Vietnam from 1802 to 1945.

En route we will have a stopover at the Hien Luong Bridge in the former DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) between North and South Vietnam, before reunification. You also visit the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel and the War Museum. This site was used as a military bastion during the war and is now a Memorial site.

Lunch will be taken in a local restaurant. Then we will continue to drive towards Hue. Arrive in the city in the late afternoon and check into your hotel.

Day 7 : Hue city tour (B,L)

After having breakfast, our tour guide will come to pick you up at your hotel.

In the morning, we will visit 3 tombs of 3 Kings from Nguyen Dynasty: Minh Mang, Khai Dinh, Tu Duc.

Our first stop is the Minh Mang Tomb. This is the final resting place of the 2nd emperor of Vietnam. This tomb is special in the way its architecture blends in seamlessly with its surroundings and landscape (Minh Mang was a staunch believer in Confucianism).

The next one is Khai Dinh Tomb. Though difficult to access (the tomb itself is located 127 steps from street level), this elaborate tomb is well worth a visit due to its mix of architectural styles. Khai Dinh spent a lot of time in France which is reflected in some European influences on his tomb. The complex also features an imperial audience court featuring twelve stone “bodyguards”.

The last tomb we visit today is the one of Tu Duc. This tomb was built for the fourth emperor of Vietnam. Incomparable in size and luxury, the sprawling complex was also used as the Emperor’s second home.

After that, you will have chance to visit making incense village and have lunch at 1:00 pm.

After about 1 hour for having lunch, we will head back to the city and visit the Imperial City of Hue or as known as the Citadel.

Despite being heavily bombed in Vietnam War, the Citadel still stands impressive and is definitely one of the highlights of Hue. This attraction will just get better and better as the government has been restoring destructed buildings within the imperial city walls. The grounds are huge, and you can spend a fair few hours wandering through the gardens, lakes, ruins and buildings.

At 4:45 pm, we will go to visit Thien Mu pagoda – a historic temple in the city of Hue in Vietnam. Its pagoda has seven stories and is the tallest religious building in Vietnam. From here you can see the panorama of Hue city with Huong river flows along.

At the end of this trip today, you will have a boat trip along Huong river, from Thien Mu pagoda to go back to the city. We will drop you off at your hotel by 5:30 pm.

Day 8 : Hue – Da Nang – Hoi An (B,L)

After having breakfast at the hotel, we will move southward by private car via Lang Co Beach, Hai Van Pass, to Da Nang city. On the way, you will have a chance to see the beautiful nature scene of Central Vietnam.

We will have lunch at a local restaurant in Da Nang.

After lunch, we will visit Cham MuseumMarble MountainLinh Ung pagoda.

Later, we arrive Hoi An. You will check in at the hotel and have a free evening for leisure.

Day 9 : Hoi An Ancient Town – My Son Sanctuary (B,L)

Today our tour guide will take you walk around Hoi An ancient town – one of the World Culture Heritages of Vietnam. The influences of several Asian cultures can be seen in these antique houses and waterside buildings. It is also famous as a place to be instantly created inexpensive tailored outfits. You will visit the Sa Huynh Museum, located near the Japanese Covered Bridge, which contains exhibitions from the earliest period of Hoi An's history.

We will have lunch at a local restaurant and then head to visit My Son SanctuaryMy Son Sanctuary was not only the Holy land of Champa Kingdom but also the most important constructions of the My Son civilization.

We will be back to Hoi An in the late afternoon. You will have a free evening to discover by yourself.

Day 10 : Hoi An – Da Nang – flight to Ho Chi Minh city (B)

After having breakfast and check out at the hotel, our driver will pick you up to go to Da Nang, ready for flight to Ho Chi Minh city.

Departure Time: 10:40 am

Arrival Time: 12:10 pm

When arrive Ho Chi Minh city by noon, you will check in at the hotel.

In the afternoon, we will take you for a quick city tour. We will start a sightseeing tour to the Reunification Palace, which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975.

After visiting Reunification Palace, we will keep going to visit some famous French colonial structures in Ho Chi Minh city such as the Notre Dame cathedral, the Old Central Post Office.

We will have dinner and overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.

 

Day 11 : Cu Chi Tunnel – Ho Chi Minh city tour (B,L)

Cu Chi Tunnel, otherwise known as the “Iron Triangle” or “Iron Land” is around 70km far from Ho Chi Minh city. It takes us more than 1 hour driving through the peaceful countryside with rice paddy fields.

We will have a short time to enjoy the introductory video of how the tunnels constructed; and then explore the maze of the tunnels. We also see various mantraps and the remains of an US tank as well as various bomb craters made by 500lb bombs dropped by B52 bombers.

In the afternoon, we will visit Chinatown and some famous Buddhist pagodas in city such as: Thien Hau, Quan Am.

After that, we will also visit Jade Emperor Pagoda – a Taoist pagoda, in honour of the supreme Taoist god – Jade Emperor or King of Heaven.

The War Remnants Museum is the next place we will visit or as known as "The House for Displaying War Crimes of American Imperialism and the Puppet Government”, focuses on exhibiting the relating to the American phase of the Vietnam War. Since then, it has undergone many changes and renovations due to the process of normalization of relation between Vietnam and the United States, such as the change to its current name in 1993.

Before we end the city tour, we will visit Ben Thanh market for doing shopping.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 12 : Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta – Can Tho (B,L,D)

Take 2 hours of driving to My Tho city, boating along the Hau River to Thoi Son Island; people warmly welcome you with fruits served in farmers' gardens. You will have a chance to enjoy interesting traditional music. Then take a boat trip to discover the hidden mysterious daily life of friendly people.

You will have lunch in local restaurant, take more cruise to further island to be living with local people's activity: joining in Coconut Candy making with local ladies, tasting Banana wine, hiking in fruits gardens to meet the bee-grower, drinking an impressive honey tea, and relaxing in quiet surroundings.

Then we will back to the boat wharf, continue driving to Can Tho, passing vast rice fields, and check-in upon arrival.

Day 13 : Can Tho – Cai Rang floating market – Ho Chi Minh city (B,L)

Early in the morning, we will take the boat trip to Cai Rang Floating market, the most unique market in Vietnam, see people with goods sales from boat to boat, more visit to local gardens, taste the Coconut Milk, fresh fruits.

Landing on the local people village we will visit rice noodles and rice papers workshops of local people.

Then we will transfer to visit Huynh Thuy Le ancient house. For anyone who has read the book or seen the film L’Amant (The Lover), now will have a chance to see the house which is a key setting for Marguerite Duras's acclaimed autobiographical novel. The "Lover's House" has a unique blend of French and Chinese architecture, was first built in 1895 and restored in 1917.

After visiting the ancient house, we will have lunch at the local restaurant and then transfer back to Ho Chi Minh city.

You will have a free evening for relaxing or shopping before come back to your country.

Day 14 : Ho Chi Minh departure (B)

As today is your last day in Vietnam, you will have a free morning to prepare and pack all your luggage before depart.

At noon, you will do the check out then transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for departure flight.
