Both Can Cau and Bac Ha markets are very well known in the area for its color painted to local hill tribe people. There are Flower Hmong, Phu La, Black Dzao, Tay and Nung…They all gather to these markets to sell their homemade products such as corn wine, handicraft… as well as an interesting animal. In this trip, you have time to see beautiful, animated and colorful market of the hill tribal peoples with festive atmosphere. You can explore magnificent and stunning landscapes of Bac Ha highland through two markets: Can Cau Market on Saturday and Bac Ha Market on Sunday.

Night 1: Hanoi – night train to Lao Cai

From 07:30 pm to 08:00 pm, our tour guide will come and pick you up at your hotel to go to the Hanoi Railway Station.

You will take overnight train to Lao Cai.


Day 2: Lao Cai – Can Cau - Bac Ha (B,L,D)

Pick up at Lao Cai Station for breakfast and relax. Then, transfer by road 122km to Can Cau via Lao Cai city and Bac Ha Town. The road is good but having many sharp bend with a long descend and a long ascend which takes about 3 hours including one or two breaks along the way.

Arrive to the market place at about 10.00 am. Spend two hours joining the local tribal peoples including Flower H’mong, Black Zao, Phu La and Tay for the festive market activities where peoples in their best traditional costume gather every Saturday for shopping and socializing. The right location of the market place also offers photo-hunters ideal opportunity for taking photos, not only of peoples in colorful traditional costumes but also breathtaking landscapes of the perfect surrounding. Leaving the market almost at noon, drive 20 km back to Bac Ha town for lunch break.

In the afternoon, you will check in at the hotel and be free to explore the town.

Day 3: Bac Ha Maket – Ban Pho Village - Lao Cai railway station (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel. Early departure from Bac Ha Town at about 08.00am Sunday morning to arrive to the market place. Spend three hours joining the local tribal peoples including Flower H’mong, Black Zao, Phu La and Tay for the market activities and festive atmosphere. All peoples in their best traditional costume gather every Sunday for shopping, but socializing is of great importance. The cattle and clothing sections are the most interesting until 11.00 and then come the food section where peoples meet, talk, enjoy food and especially drink a kind of locally made corn-wine.

Leave the market for the H'mong King's house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Return to the town for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Ban Pho village

Picked up and transfer 45 km to Lao Cai city, spend half an hour to see trading activities at the border gate and coffee break before transfer to Lao Cai station.

Stay overnight on train. And we will arrive in Hanoi around 05:00 AM. End of tour.
